Community Activities Every year we sponsor the Atlanta Gay Pride 5K Run/Walk in June during Atlanta's Pride Celebration as our way of giving back to the community. Since starting this race in 1991, it has grown to be one of the largest pride runs in the country. You'll also find some of us volunteering at other races, such as the Take Back the Night Run which benefits the DeKalb Rape Crisis Center, the Atlanta Marathon and Half Marathon on Thanksgiving morning to cheer on some of our own. Local Races We usually designate a Race of the Month, for those of us who like a little competition. Generally, we pick one of Atlanta's local races, but we occasionally venture outside the perimeter to participate in races in Athens, Madison, Rome, or Peachtree City. We also enter several teams each year in the Atlanta Track Club's Ekiden, a relay race held in early October. Social Activities We manage to find time for an occasional party, pot-luck dinner, or evening out at the movies. We've always got something going on. We hope you'll consider being part of us. |
